Keep the words, lose the platform
Keep the existing wording, colours and the founder's photo. Add the career record that made the business worth hiring. Stop the monthly fee.
Selected work
A consultancy with no site worth keeping, a business launching from nothing, a fitter whose photos were stuck on Facebook, and a society running its fixtures on paper. Each one is live and each one is listed honestly, including the parts that are still new.
Case study 01 · Rebuild
An engine consultancy with 50 years in industrial diesel, and a 4 page platform site that said almost none of it.
Keep the existing wording, colours and the founder's photo. Add the career record that made the business worth hiring. Stop the monthly fee.
Home, services, track record, about and contact, in the existing black and lime, with a moving hero, counters and reveals. Enquiries go to the company address.
The business is pre-launch, so the results page sets out career roles and the measures each service moves, rather than claiming client figures it does not have yet.
Case study 02 · New build
Drone roof surveys across Hampshire and Surrey, launched from nothing with prices published on the page. My own business, which is why it doubles as the place I try things first.
Roof surveys by drone are new to most homeowners. The site has to answer what happens, what it costs, and why it beats a ladder, before anyone will call.
Five survey types with the price against each, from a visual check to a commercial roof. Moving visuals on the hero and enquiries sent through a proper email service.
The .co.uk address now redirects to the main .io domain, business email stays where it was, and nothing broke on the way across.
Case study 03 · Rebuild with a database
Kitchen and bathroom fitters in Farnborough, with 954 Facebook followers and years of job photos that never reached the website.
The old site was slow, the gallery was out of date, and the best proof of the work sat in Facebook posts nobody visiting the site would ever see.
Enquiries, testimonials and the gallery all run from a database, so they can change without touching the code. New enquiries alert by email the moment they arrive.
Photos were moved off the old platform's image service on 1 September 2026, so the previous site could be closed without the pictures disappearing.
Case study 04 · Members and admin
A society running fixtures, draws, results and prize money by hand, with a turnout that is often an odd number and never the same twice.
Fixtures, who is playing, the tee draw, a separate pairs draw, results, prizes, the hole-in-one pot and who has paid. All of it managed by volunteers between rounds.
Members see fixtures and results. The committee logs in to run the draws, record scores and mark payments, with the awkward rules handled properly.
An odd turnout means one player is paired twice and gets two chances at the prize. Each round runs only the side competitions the committee chooses, on holes that change with the course.
Common ground
HTML, CSS and JavaScript. No page builder, no theme, no plugins waiting to break.
Static files served from a fast network. Hosting for a small business site costs nothing to run.
Galleries, testimonials, members and enquiries sit in a database. Everything else stays as plain files.
Files, domain and logins are handed over. Any other developer can pick the site up tomorrow.
Next step
A free 20 minute call, a written quote, and a straight answer on whether a new site would make any difference to the business. If it would not, I will say so.
Only your name, email and a few lines are needed. The rest helps me quote properly.
